Steve Lightbody is an Australian audio engineer, arranger and multi-award winning producer. In mid 2008 he co-founded American/Australian indie lable Two Faced Records with New York based singer-songwriter aidan nolan. With album and single sales fast approaching 250,000 Steve's engineering and production skills speak for themselves.
Over the past fifteen years he has produced, arranged, engineered and marketed singles, eps and albums for a long list of Australian and international artists including aidan nolan (US), Gary Oswell (UK), Aron Keller (US), John J. Francis (AU), Jennifer Andrews (UK), Jace Cole (US), The Hiding (AU), Angus + Dunn (AU), Susan Judd (NZ), Avaberee (AU), Tom Landauer (AU) and the acclaimed Melbourne flautist James Becknall (AU). He was the former musical director and songwriter for the successful Queensland vocal group Cantabile Singers with whom he recorded eight studio albums and one ep between 1999 and 2003.
As a FOH and monitor engineer Steve has chalked up an impressive list of credits, some of which include K.D. Lang (State Theatre, Sydney), Ben Folds (Hordern Pavilion, Sydney), Joe Cocker (Sydney Entertainment Centre), Barry Gibb (Brisbane Entertainment Centre), Dwight Yoakam (River Stage, Brisbane) and Bobby Womack (Hamer Hall, Melbourne).
In addition to his freelance achievements, Steve has co-produced, engineered and mixed studio sessions alongside many world class engineers including the legendary Andy Johns (Eric Clapton, The Swayback), Leon Prescott (Powderfinger, You Am I), the Grammy award-winning David Leonard (Paul McCartney, K.D. Lang), Jeff Malkin (Marie Olzard, Lil' Sasha), Roberto Merlini (Peta Evans-Taylor, aidan nolan), Anthony Lycenko (Pete Murray, Busby Marou) and Sam Rosinsky (Midnight Express, Chris Morris) as well as enjoying a lengthy association with legendary mastering engineers Dave Neil (Ben Lee, The Butterfly Effect) and Ted Jensen (Dave Matthews Band, Joe Jackson).
He has worked with a number of well-known session musicians including bassist Ian Beddows (James Morrison), internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Gordon Titcomb (Arlo Guthrie), percussionist Alejandro Osorio (Norma Eliza), American saxophonist Kris Jenson (The Allman Brothers), UK keyboard wizard Ryan Anderson (David Bowie) and Melbourne session drummers Peter Evans (Angus & Julia Stone) and Lev Samuals (Catherine Britt).
